week3 exp2

Here is my 3 images of different damaged houses. I like them because each of them is a good example of a specific structural collision. This one is a good example of shifting and crack lines.
This is one is an example of fire burn marks

And this is one is an example of roof rusting.

These is my sketches, the main damage is broken parts( edges), crack lines and vegetation.

week2 ( after the break)

this is before applying bump and spec

this is after

My 3 materials are wood, concrete and marble. Wooden structures can stay for hundreds years. Wood is also very flexible material to work with. Typical use of wood is furniture, toys and in terms of building small houses, constructional framing. The reasons which lead wood to corrode is humidity, bugs, shifts.
Concrete can stay for 50-75 years, it offers low maintenance method of construction, involves a wooden framing. The most typical use is commercial buildings such as malls and retail stores.  Slight shifts of the ground can cause cracks, water and oxygen inside of the concrete can lead to corrosion.
Marble is very heavy material , thats the reason why it always has a good constructional framing, in order not to break the floor. Can stay for a very long time, used usually for flooring. And it also requires constant maintenance in order to keep looking shiny and good.

Week2

My 5 images of landscape are somehow different and similar at the same time
So the first one is a a place in Greece.Well, it is a very good place for growing almost anything , becuz of the soft climate. It is pretty hilly as well, Greece also has volcanoes.
Second one is India.India has probably everything in it from mountains to deserts. It is pretty sunnyy in terms of lighting.
This is a spring desert in Egypt. Its a desert, right, so not much of vegetation. Its very sunny during the day and very cold during the night.
This is similar, i think , to the Greece ( well,at least the photo)its a volcano in Mexico. Since Mehico has almost any climat you can think of ( except polar and tundra) it can grow anything from cactus to oaks.
And of course the last is my country of origin -Russia. I personally know that this contry has everything even a polar climate, ...well maybe not desserts and tropics . So,its a good place for forests, and plants that are not very picky in terms of weather. About lighting, well...its pretty light during summer)))

Unfortunately i could not do the work on cryengine, i was freaking out way too often.

Independent study:

5ways you might customize your sandbox editor set up
  • You can change your toolbar by deleting some or creating new ones ( by clicking Tools -->customize -->toolbars, or by right clicking on the empty space on the toolbar)
  • You can customize your short keys by creating ones you want ( Tools -->Customize-->Keyboard)
  • By clicking Tools-->Preferences you can change your preferences (obviously) where you can change view point, whether you want or you dont want auto back up save, etc
  • If ,for example you opened too many windows and it looks pretty messy, you can have them all open in one window by dragging and dropping the top of the window to another window.
  • You can also attach any window to the tool bar, where you can control where exactly u want this window to be ( up,down, left or right). Because the size of the window is still big ( it covers majority of the view) you can increase or decrease the size of it.
3 different ways of moving around your level.
  • You can use shortcuts such as W,S,A,D to move up, down, left and to right
  • If you dont want to use short cuts you can use your mouse, by clicking middle and the right button at the same time and move the mouse you can move around
  • Also, you can use a button "Go to position" where you can enter coordinates of the position you need and you will get there without moving around, and trying to find that exact spot
5 shortcuts or buttons
  • If you want to go faster you can press "shift" and W ,or what ever direction u want
  • Q is for going under the ground ( the actual button is located on the bottom tool bar next to the camera speed
  • By pressing ALT and middle mouse you can rotate around your level
  • Also, there are shortcuts for moving around W-up, S-down, A-left, D-right
